Check in with camp host, or range. Check info board at campground entrance.
They will often post bear updates there.
Always keep a clean campsite.
Car camping; Do not store food in tent, or leave cooler out. It should be kept in the food lockers or secured in your vehicle.
Do not wash dishes and dump water in the fire pit. That will attract bears.
Do not throw left over food on the ground.
Backpacking / Backcountry Camping
In the backcountry food should be kept in a bear keg and hoisted up in a tree. Or stored 100 yrs downwind from your tent site.
Do not set up your tent on a trail leading to a body of water - lake or creek or on a trail.
