Let somone know where you are going. When you'll be back.
Leave a note in your vehicle at the trailhead.
Read the signs at trailheads.
Utilize facebook groups/sites for current trail conditions or bear sightings.
Check in with rangers for that area and maps if needed.
Do not hike with food unless its stored properly in bear cannister/ bear keg.

All food and items with scents should be stored in a secure & approved bear food storage container.
